Thoughts on this Good Friday

John 19: 25-27 (NIV) Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. 26 When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to her, “Woman,[b] here is your son,” 27 and to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.

Even on the cross Jesus reminds us of the importance of family and the importance of taking care of one another. Jesus told both the disciple whom he loved and his Mother to take care of each other. They now would be family—-family closer than they had been before. As a body of believers we are all family and we are all called to unite together in Christian Fellowship as we proclaim the Good News.

As we prepare to welcome members of our congregations, family visitors, and first time visitors let us stay focused on the love of Christ. Also let us remember those that cannot worship with us today and Easter morning. Let us remember those that serve in all of the myriads of servanthood and those that cannot attend services today and Resurrection Sunday for whatever reason that might be. IF YOU CAN GO PLEASE GO.

May you have a very blessed glorious Easter weekend.
